A whole school approach to SEMH assessments – SDQ Framework

We are committed to ensuring that all Senior Mental Health Leads can go beyond the data to create a whole school approach that is proactive around the social, emotional and behavioural needs of students.

That's why we are offering one complimentary space to the Senior Mental Health Lead, per school.

In the two-hour workshop, you will join in an in-depth exploration of how to use the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, both as a whole school approach to assessment, and to influence your decision-making regarding the delivery and implementation of interventions and outcomes.

You will learn:

  • The importance of understanding data when creating a mental health strategy.
  • How to use SDQ (Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire) as a baseline assessment tool.
  • How to interpret the results of SDQ, and to implement plans to support children and young people.
  • How to transform your setting's culture to embrace emotional and mental health assessments.
  • How you can develop a whole school approach to SEMH, using the results from SDQ and other emotional assessments.
  • How to access insights available from the CORDS digital assessment solution

Outcomes

  • You're empowered to use SDQ to assess, identify early interventions, set targets and track progress.
  • You'll have an approach to shifting your setting's culture designed around the social, emotional and behavioural needs of students.
